Ivo Bach, MD is a vascular neurologist and neurointerventionalist providing minimally invasive, image-guided treatment for stroke and cerebrovascular disease — from the emergency room to the angiography suite.
Two disciplines, one continuum of care.
Dr. Bach practices at the intersection of vascular neurology and neurointervention — a combination that lets him care for patients across the entire arc of cerebrovascular disease: diagnosing the stroke, performing the intervention, and managing the recovery.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Zagreb Medical School in Croatia, bringing an international foundation to his practice. He completed his neurology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in vascular neurology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a fellowship in neuro-endovascular surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
As a vascular neurologist, he leads acute stroke evaluation and long-term secondary prevention. As a neurointerventionalist, he performs catheter-based procedures in the angiography suite: restoring blood flow in large vessel occlusion stroke, securing aneurysms, treating subdural hematomas, and embolizing brain and head-and-neck tumors.
Fluent in Croatian and English, Dr. Bach maintains active ties to the international neuroscience community. He is an active educator and speaker on brain health and dementia prevention, committed to bringing evidence-based, guideline-driven cerebrovascular care to the Westchester community and beyond.

Comprehensive etiology evaluation — vessel imaging, cardiac monitoring, thrombophilia workup, and risk stratification — to guide targeted secondary prevention and prevent recurrence.
Mechanical Thrombectomy
Catheter-based clot retrieval for LVO stroke using stent retrievers and aspiration, including extended window cases guided by perfusion imaging (DAWN / DEFUSE / ATLAS criteria).
IV Thrombolysis
Rapid tPA and tenecteplase administration, mobile stroke unit collaboration, and bridging to thrombectomy — maximizing reperfusion in the time-critical window.
Aneurysm Embolization & Flow Diversion
Coil embolization, Pipeline and Surpass flow diverters, WEB intrasaccular device, and MMA embolization for chronic subdural hematoma — tailored to aneurysm morphology and patient risk.
AVM & Fistula Embolization
Staged brain AVM embolization with Onyx and NBCA, transarterial and transvenous dural AVF and CCF occlusion, and spinal AVM/AVF treatment — preventing hemorrhage and venous hypertension.
Carotid & Intracranial Stenting
Carotid angioplasty and stenting, intracranial atherosclerotic disease treatment, and intra-arterial vasodilator infusion and balloon angioplasty for post-SAH cerebral vasospasm.
